vocal overly bright!!!

i'm using the XML990 with a basic eurorack mixer. everything went ok but the recorded vocal is overly bright, i'm kindda stupid when it comes to vocal EQ, what can i do to make the vocal sound a little fuller less bright because it is wayyy too bright and it's really annoying. thanks. i tried using high cut default setting from cool edit but that didn't help much.

Use the parametric EQ. You can do this in Multitrack View by going to the little area on the left end of the track: there are three buttons near the top that have something like "Vol/Eff/EQ" (I'm not at my recording computer at the moment). Click on "EQ", then right-click in the EQ window that comes up, and you'll get a parametric EQ function. Use the mouse to drag the buttons on the frequency lines around to change. I'd start at the far right, and pull down the slider at that end (it's always better to cut rather than boost when you have annoyances) and tinker with it -- move it right or left and up and down -- until the sound improves (you can do this while you are playing the track).
