Vocal frequency?

Hey folks,
What is the approximate frequency range for male vocals. I need to know where to notch the rest of the mix so the vocals have a "space". I'm just starting out so I need some experienced advice.
 
Approx. 2-4Khz. But creating space for a vocal is going to be a little more involved than just "notch out the rest of the mix". A human voice has a lot of stuff going on with it. It is a very complex waveform. Most of the "place in the mix" is going to come from a good song and arrangement, and a very good singer who has great tonality.
