I did a search here, found a few names for vocal effects.. then didn't find hardly anything at Musicians Friend. Website problems i guess.

Thought maybe you folks could help me out on this.

My band has a pretty good singer, however since we run NO effects in our rack yet... the vocals are a bit dry.

I'd like to spruce that up a bit for doing live shows (not worried about recording at the moment).

I found plenty of standard effects processors, but very little for something geared specifically for vocals. Also, I don't have a clue what types of effects I should be shopping for here. (i play guitar... so i'm out of my league on this one)

I suppose we would like reverb, chorus, delay, or anything that 'thickens' up the vocal pattern a bit. (harmonizer??)

Again.... this application is strictly for LIVE shows, so it definately don't have to be perfect.

Thanks, in advance!

The basics that you need is reverb and compression. TC-Electronics have some ok units that will help you with this.

Another viable option is the Behringer Virtualizer Pro. I use this one myself. Runs the vocals through it for compression and then add reverb in the mixer. This is a quite cheap unit but it works.

If you are loaded with cash you can get some of the TC-Helicon units that are enigineered primarily for vocals, but these are expensive.

If you have the $$$ ($799) the VoiceLive vocal processor by TC Helicon is a worthy contender. I have one and am very pleased with it.
