Vocal Effects (Tin Can)

How do you get that "Tin Can" or singing into a "glass
jar" effect on the vocals???

I'm looking to achieve that really "Dry, Flat" sound ala
the end of Tomorrow Never Knows, by the Beatles, when
John sings the last verse, his voice sounds as if he's singing
into a tin can.

Have you tried singing into a can yet? Seriously....

Other wise, I've often done vocal effects (AM Radio) with EQ... There might be a plugin you can find that will do it as well.
