What are vocal booths? What purpose do they serve? What's some cheap and not too incrdibly hard ways to build/make/convert a room into one?

Umm they're an isolated booth used to record vocals in??! They serve the purpose of recording a dry vocal track without getting getting bleed from anything. If you dont know what they are or why you need one why are you looking to make one...

don't forget they aren't just to isolate from others, they are also for the most part to get rid of a unwanted room sound. Drums in my case sound good in a room, Vocals... not soo much. You can build dead boxes if you're not gonna worry about isolation, but once you get into a real treatment, stuff is gonna add up.

Any details of what you actually want... or just a general vocal booth for a general person, in a general building?

I could give you a general answer that you have to use things, put it together with tools and it will work. That doesnt help anyone though, so please just give us more details and then people here will be able to give you the same amount of detail back!

Same Vocal Booth Subject.

Ok...I got a question. I will be moving into a home next year & I want to build me a studio. Nothing fancy, 1 Booth, 1 Control Rm. I am thinking 4'X7' for the Booth & the rest will be the Control Rm. The garage is a single car garage. I don't want to use up the entire garage, maybe 1/3 of it. Now my question is, Considering the size of the garage, Can it be done?

To Nicoya - A single car garage in my neck of the woods is roughly 16' X 20'. A third of the space would be less than 6' x 7'. That's a booth, but not a control room and surely not a control room and a booth. Are the dimensions of your garage bigger than this? What are they? Can you not consider the "one room studio" concept found here:

I think we'll need more details, please.
