im going to build a vocal booth. im planning on using palletts for the floor and floating them off the studio floor with syrofoam peices....then i was planning on putting another layer of syrafoam insulation betwwen the tops of the palletts and a plywood top for the floor. my question is do y'all have any suggestions on how to construct the walls. staggered studs and insolation? something else maybe?
i want to make it as soundproof as posible with out spending a bundle.

I would just like to say that using pallets for the floor sounds like a great idea! Pallets are always easy to get hold of too, mostly by 'borrowing'

:)

I know this isn't an answer to your question, but i think the idea deserves some praise.

yeah, i liked the pallett idea too. if you get the top grade palletts its like a framed out floor with only 4 strips that touch your existing floor. and they are in my price range too....free.
