I am having a problem panning. I am using the Roland VM3100 Pro as my interface and using Cubase VST 32.5.0. This is the problem and i think it hd to do with Cubas but not sure. First of all when i get to select my inputs its weird. it only gives me the options of 1L or1R or 2L or 2R etc. This translates intoinput 1being 1L and input 2 being 1R. I dont like that and if anyone knows a way to fix that i would appreciate it much. The other problem is this. I have used it this way to record. i record one track on 1L and pan it about 75% to the left. then i will record a track on 1R and pan it about 75% to the right, sounds good huh? Nope, on the screen master mixer it looks fine (If i solo one track the appropiate levels are going to the appropriate side) but hearing it is allwrong. First of all the second track i cat hear unless i solo it, then it is really really quite. So then i learned this: if i pan anything hard right (regardless ofwhich 1L or 1R i am using ) it disappears form sound. Weird. It it really strange because looking at the screen of my computer, al the pannings are going as planned, but hearding them i hear nothing. If anyone could please help out a very new newbie i would b very grateful. Thank you

What is your soundcard?

If you have the RBUS card make sure that you open the driver utility and hit the toggle that automatically routes all channels as a monitor mix to ch 1/2.

Chances are you are sending the signal out on the monitor feed and the specific channels.

If that is not the problem then it may be that you have the incoming channels on the VM panned to center. When you assign an output you usually pick an output pair like 1/2, 3/4, etc. If you want to pan within Cubase than those channels on the VM need to be hard panned in L-R pairs. If you want to do your panning on the VM then you should hard pan the track in Cubase to the output you want. Then pan that incoming track in the VM to however you want it.

I do have the R Bus Sound card, how woul i go about opening the
driver lity? is this done on the VM3100 or on my computer somewhere? Ths sounds like the problem though i will go into the Vm and see what i have the assigned stuff to. This could be the problem but thank you very much

There should be a program called Logic RPC. You can also access the driver control panel in the Logic options under Devices, I think.

thank you iwill try that, i called midiman and the guy was oh so unhelppful, i called roland and they help me with the panning problem, now the RPC card is eliminating the right channel, wierd huh
