Hey, i was thinking about getting the vm200 mixer but it doesnt seem like i would have enough inputs. I am going ot be using it as a control for a computer program. I am going ot be recording full bands. It has 4 xlr and 4 1/4". So if i wanted to mic a drum set i would have to use 4 xlr chords, my question here is for the other 4 mics i would have to use the 1/4". can that be done? will that degrade the quality? and if i use the vm200 with a program i can record more than 8 channels right? i am using an adat soundcard. but once im done recording 8 tracks i can re assign the faders?

question 2: i then saw the yamaha o1v and that it has 12 xlr which would seem more practical for micing drums. the o1v, if i get it on ebay is in my budget. let me know what you think.

is the vm200 practical for micing drums?
