Hi all,
I have Sonar running. I found the virtual keyboard that comes with the program. Looks like it might be fun to try programing some bass lines with it. My problem is syncing the keyboard with Sonar. I am not sure how to get sonar to start recording when I press a key on the virtual keyboard. I'm using the "midi" sync, button on sonar under the sync source toolbar. I'm sure I don't have something enabled or turned on. Does anyone know how to use the "virtual keyboard" to activate the recording mode on Sonar? thanks for the help all.

This might help...

Even if you don't have a real MIDI instrument, you can still record MIDI in your projects using the Virtual Piano. The Virtual Piano is a utility that lets you use your computer keyboard and mouse to make music.

When you click the keys with the mouse or play notes using your computer keyboard, the Virtual Piano converts the information to MIDI data and sends it to SONAR. For complete information about the Virtual Piano, use the online help system.

To Use the Virtual Piano
Choose Options-MIDI Devices to display the MIDI Devices dialog box.
Make sure that Virtual Piano is highlighted in the Inputs control.
Click OK to close the MIDI Devices dialog box.
Choose Tools-Virtual Piano to start the Virtual Piano.
To read the online documentation, choose Help-Contents.

To Install the Virtual Piano
Place the SONAR CD in your CD-ROM drive.
Open the Virtual Piano folder on the root of the CD.
Double-click on the Installer icon to begin the installation process.
