Virtual / electronic drums

I been thinking of getting an electronic drum kit, like the Yamaha DTXpress. Although id love to have a real DW kit for practicality reasons I cant (missies would'nt let me :) )

Say my budget was upto £1,000 (about $1900) what would folks recommend? Yamaha or roland or something else. I play rock music so needs to have decent sampled sounds. But id be willing to spend more if need be.

Has anyone got anything recorded using a virtual kit that I could listen too?

Cheers.

electronic drums

I have been recording with a pintech set using a Roland TD7T controller. I am very happy with the sounds I get on the recording. I don't have a lot of mics to record acoustic drums and I like the simplicity of the electronic set. I have 1 song I can send you in standard CD format if you are interested.

Also look at the Hart Dynamics kits. I've heard they perform very well. I've never played them, though.

I did play the Roland V-drums for a while, and they are the bomb - although very expensive.
