the violin sounds in fruity loops dont seem to give me wut i want.. is there any other good way to get nice sounding violins in a song?

You can sample some violin sounds from a CD or record that you like.
You can purchase some from a sample CD collection.
You can record them from a synth/workstation.

Peace

I think the best advice I can give you is not to let your expectations get too high if you're working with violin samples. Some instruments translate OK into samples, others don't. Violin's in the latter category. If you want them to sound anything like the real deal, be prepared to work like a bitch. See, when a violinist plays a phrase, the notes tend to 'run in' to one another - not like a piano, where usually you hear one note and then the next, and there's a definite cutoff between the two - the violinist generally slides his or her fingers from one note to the next one. Which is why it rarely sounds natural when you try to play violin parts on a keyboard. A good basic strategy is to apply some reverb to your samples. From then on, you're on your own, because I'm buggered if I can make convincing loops of out string samples

Hence the reason of buying professionally recorded loops from sites such as those I've provided.

There's no comparison to the real thing.

Yeah, but I got the feeling Jesus wanted to program his own riffs with one-shot samples

Violine samples

hey Jesus Piece

U could try soundfonts as well, especially if ur using fruity, as u can insert the soundfont player as a plugin. It should come standard with fruity. There are some pretty nice violin/cello samples floating on the net which are free too.Sometimes in a slightly lesser quality as u may want it, but if ur doing a hip hop beat, the slight off-colour sound just makes it so much better. But u could also apply some reverb too.If u want I could forward a sounfont violin file ur way.U can then place it in a folder and access it thru soundfont from fruity.

Hit me back.Keep it tight.
