Does anyone know where to get vinyl pressed that's relatively inexpensive? Either 45s or full LPs? Please share any experiences.

I looked at this a few months back and just called a few places I found on the web. Just talking to them about what I wanted gave me a good idea of which one to go with. AFAIK there are only a few plants still doing this.

I know I posted the same place in a recent thread on CD's, but the folks at QCA in Cincinnati do records as well. I am not sure how their prices compare, but I know they do them.

Google 'vinyl pressing', it'll bring up a number of different places that will do it. I can't offer any personal suggestions, but I did always think it would be cool to get a 45 7" of two of my songs pressed in a short run just for the Hell of it...

Just out of curiosity, what are you looking to put out on vinyl (Im assuming your own work, of course - just interested in the style)?

It's not a cheap way to go: both in the aspect of buying them, and the fact that no matter how cool you think they are, no one buys them. EVER. NEVER.
But it is great to have your music on vinyl. nothing sounds better.

Yeah, I would never expect to sell em (which is why its nice I could find a couple places that will do as little as a couple hundred)
Isn't it ironic I would like to create something that is essentially useless other than its worth as a collector's item, and no one would find it collectable

and to that end i applaud your bravery
it does take a gut check to knowingly spend $600-$1000 dollars on a bunch of plastic grooves that will sit in a box under the cellar stairs.
