Vinyl pressing and 7-inch records

Okay, in the near future I really want to have a 7" record pressed and I'm looking at a few places right now, including RecordPressing.com

Anyway, is it necessary for a 7" to be pressed by DMM? I'm not familiar with the technicalities that goes into record pressing, but I'm trying to spend my money wisely.

DMM is Direct Metal Mastering. It means that they cut the metal stamper directly rather than making it from a laquer master. It isn't necessary but some people say it gives a better sound. Most records aresn't cut this way so I imagine you'd be happy without it.

We do all vinyl at Cavetone, we typically go with lacquering because we do mono and a lathe allows for it to be cut with a tube amplifier. DMM sounds really interesting, it's one less step in the process.
