Vintech 1272 vs. UA 2108 ????

From what i've gathered about these two units they are good "balls-y" pre-amps.... especially on drums.

But if the 1272 and the 2108 had Battle Roy-al which would be the pound for pound best overall pre???

I am probably going for a Sytek unit and as I've heard that has a cleaner character, I would like to also get 2 channels of ummph.

As you might of guessed...... I'm in the market to seriously upgrade my set up.

wondering the same...

or similar thing -- i was just about to start a thread asking folks here to help me drop some cash, and i'm looking at the

2108 VS the Vintech X73.

i've used the X73 and it is THE BOMB, but more expensive and only one channel. then again, it has the killer EQ.

the 2108 has great reviews and it's two channels and i love the other UA things i have (2-610, 1176).

i also have an RNMP, and i'm wondering if as a solid state pre the 2108 is redundant in that case (not that it's probably not "better", but maybe not "different" enough to justify spending the cash for someone who doesn't have a lot of gear).

hope some peeps chime in here...
