I was about to buy a guitar amp, but unfortunately I live where no amps are sold. So I have to purchase via internet without even trying the amp. I just wanted to ask you guys the differences between the Belair2x12 and the MTS·112 (both from Carvin). The kinda seem the same, in components and stuff, but what about the sound?....

Thanks and cheers... :D

The MTS has 6l6 tubes and is suited better for metal I guess, where as the Belair has el84's and is more of a blues/classic rock amp. They both have great clean channels as well. I have the Vintage 16 amp (which is like a smaller version of the belair) and its an awesome amp for what I use it for.

The vintage series has presence only on the clean channel, MTS only on the OD channel. The vintage series has diodes in the OD, I do not know whether the MTS does, the Legacy does not. The vintage series is good for blues/ rock but not modern high gain or metal, and the MTS is probably better for metal. You might also look at the Fender HR Deville 212.

Whatever you do, retube the amp with JJ's or Svetlana winged C's or something other than Sovteks.

thanks man... I thought nobody liked or knew about these amps... I guess I'm getting the MTS, but crap... they are heavy as hell... Also I was onsidering the Stage 1600 and the Spider 212 (both the newer series). Anything to say about these amps?...

I found both of them about the same, effets and 2x12", but unfortunatelly I can't try them... In my place nobody has or sells amps... the closest place is about 1000 Km far. Thanks I apreciate you time... :o :)

what kind of music do you play? ... what effects? ... what do you need it for (home/gig)? - the more info you feed us, the better the answers.

oops!!... yeah you're right.

So, I will use it for gigging, studio, practicing. I play mostly rock, new metal, sometimes a go to jazz and alternative music. That's why i need it to be versatile.

When I compare (just looking at the specs charts) the Stage 1600 and the Spider 212 II, i see that they are about the same, but what about sound??... what about price-quality thing??... Effects, I have never tried fender effects exept for the reverb. Is it woth it to get the line6 one or the fender one??...

I wish I could try them my self... The are about the same price, about the same everything..... well, I'm open for recomendations...

Thanks guys... :)
