Vinnie Coliuta

Saw Herbie Hancock the other night and he had Vinnie Coliuta drumming for him.

First time I've ever seen the guy, in the flesh or otherwise. He was a lot... whiter than I thought he be lol.

What a drummer. I've always liked the stuff he did with Zappa, and man can he funk it up. What was great was that everyone in the band had a superb innate sense of tempo and timing. Brilliant show

Possibly my favourite drummer of all time, or at least fighting a few other drummers off!

He is really versatile too. Swings his ass off, but also plays with great sensitivity dynamics-wise. Tasty stuff.
