I have been messing about with importing video of bands I record live and placing video in sonar 5 and sync'ing up mix multitrack audio. My problem is the video right from camcorder looks fine, once in sonar it seems to have been degraded. It looks a bit grainy, about 2/3 of the orig. quality. I know nothing about video work........ I have checked settings in sonar for video as much as I'm able. The poor video is even before I export the video. Any clues other than go but a mac and final cut pro?
Thanks

I'm not too familiar with working with video in Sonar as I only use it for music but I know from working with video in AVID Nonlinear Digital Editing that when you are in working in Edit mode, or Sonar's equivalent, it will load a lower quality video as a working file becuase the high quality video sucks up a lot of RAM and CPU juice making real time edits slow or causing computer crashes. Once you compose the video the way you want it and lay the audio tracks down then you can "Render" the project with the edits you made. When you render it, it should give you some options as to the quality you want.

Now, how to go about doing that in Sonar I don't know but at least this can give you an idea of what to look for.

Hope this helps.
