all up in yo grill!
I'm not bashing matrox at all. i just want to be able to play a few online games like counter strike when I'm not recording....i was thinking about these two....any objections or suggestions are highly welcome

GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR AGP, TVout, Dual Display
or
Radeon 9550SE 128MB DDR AGP Video Card, TV-out, Dual Display

I've heard some good and bad stories about radeon but i dont know if there are still compatability issues

system:
3000 amd 64
Abit K8 via chipset
512 mb ddr400 (soon to be 1gb)
sata 80gb wd
XP home

i don't know how much more it would be, but i have a saphire radeon 9800 SE in my new computer and am very happy with it. it's not a mind flowing card like the X800 but it is pretty dang good. I like the ATI cards better than NVIDIA but that is totally just personal preference.

I would stick with GeForce to be able to exploit the BionicFX app when it comes out. A GeForce FX-5200 (128MB) should cost about $72, a FX-5700 (128MB) about $145, a FX-5700 (256MB) about $168, a GF6800GT (256MB) about $469, and there there is this monster which will come bundled with it's own motherboard and cost about the same as the GF6800GT does by itself!!

Lord, I love computers!

...i bought my car for $500....if you put a transmission and tires on that thing....i bet you could get some pretty good lap times at the drag strip.
