VF80, Silly question about track bouncing...

As it seems unclear in my manual, and instead of experimenting, I'd like to come on this board and ask (because it's more fun)... On the VF80, when you bounce down to 7/8 making room on 1-6, assuming you fill up 1-6, then want to bounce down again to do a final master, what happens to the material already on 7/8? Does the newly bounced sound simply get added, or do you lose what's already been bounced to 7/8?

The implication is that you shouldn't be losing what's already on 7/8, or there'd be no point in bouncing to free up tracks, but I wanted to be sure...

It will overwrite what's there already. If you want to keep it, exchange it on to two of the virual tracks, then you can bring it back to (say) 1 and 2 once you've done your subsequent bounce and hence cleared 1-6. Move the new 7&8 over to 3&4, and mix again.

(They don't call it ping pong for nothing. And a little notebook next to the machine can be very useful - my little brain can't keep track and I've overwritten a couple of things by mistake)

I'm having a lot of fun with my VF80. I imagine there are faster, cleaner ways to do some of the things I'm doing, but I'm very happy with the results.

I think numbers of tracks are like briefcases... You think that more would easily meet a need, but when more space is available, suddenly there's more "paper" to fill it in! I'm starting to think a VF160 isn't as unnecessary as I once did! Even so, the VF80's easy portability is a real plus.
