VF160 as a Control Surface?

I have an oppertunity to pick up a VF160 for $400.

Since it can be used as a mixer for pc recording, I was wondering if anyone has heard of the possibility of using the vf160 as a control surface for a program like Sonar.

I currently use a laptop and a tascam US428 with Sonar, but right now the VF160 looks attractive.

Just because of the price I may pick it up regardless.
 
You'd be a complete fool if you let it pass at that price even though you can't use it as a control surface. The midi in VF is ment purely for synchronizing to other gear not for sending control data to control outboard gear.

So...... I guess I'll be lurking around these parts trying to learn about my new toy.

Think I'll pick it up today.
