Fostex has upgraded and changed the VF-08 with their new VF-80. Anyone used it yet? Any feedback from actual users, reviews, opinions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the Fostex VF-08, and I like it a lot, high quality, lots of space. The only drawback: you can only use one effect at a time in a program (there are ways around that problem). From what I understand, the new Fostex VF-80's new features include mic and amp modeling, which could be a nice feature. Oh, yeah, it's now blue. But I like the VF-08 a lot, so the VF-80 is similar with added features.

I bought one about a week ago. I give it 2 thumbs up. There are a few things I don't like, but the sound quality and the price make these things mute.

Things I don't like are:
Too many virtual controls (not real controls)
You can only use 1 effect (you can work around this)
it is really ony 6 track with 7/8 being master tracks that act differently.

But again, the sound quality and the price make the bad things seem insignificant

I have had one for a couple of months... (a VF08 before that for about six months.) I was using an old Peavey Board for mixing...

I like the improvements on the VF80... Especially the CD interface.

The editor can be a bit of a challenge (at least for me... But the, I don't have a CLUE as to what I'm doing...).

I bought one in June, it's my 1st experiance w/digital.

I am not using a mixer, mostly recording guitar direct.
I am having difficulty getting a clean sound , even w/ the trim set low. Is this inherent in Digital? would a tube pre-amp solve this.

Overall it is a nice unit for the $
