hey...have any of you heard about the new digital 16 track coming out from fostex...the VF-16? sounds pretty cool..built in compression...and a large hard drive..all for a list price of around $1400..ihave the FD-8 right now and would love the extra 8 tracks...anyone else read anything about this?

I've read about it in a music catalog. Sounds like it might be pretty awesome. It did not mention whether it was a 16 bit recorder or higher. I'm guessing 16 bit because of the cost. If the internal effects are better than decent it should be a big seller. The mixer looks pretty easy to use, too. $1400 is a very tempting price.

yeah..ya know what else looks cool? theres actually 16 faders..pretty cool...i called fostex and the tech said he wasnt sure about how many bits it was lol...oh well...i DO know that it has built in compression and eq for each channel AND a master eq and comp for the overall mix...it sounds pretty cool to me
