So i got all ready to order my MR-8 today and realized that i had a huge problem...i have two computers, a Mac and a Dell with only windows 98! so i have no way to get tracks to a computer which is what i really need. a windows 2000 upgrade is $200....so i went to ebay and started looking around and found a guy who is selling a VF-16 for $450. is this a wise purchase? as far as i know the main difference between the VF-16 and the VF-160 is a cd burner. If it has SCSI and .Wav compatibility i will be able to edit on the computer. anyways i need to know quick if this is a wise move..

You couldn't make a better deal. I'd bought a second one for backup at that price. But I suggest that you get a adat soundcard for your computer as its much easier to transfer data that way. AFAIK scsi devices are not hotswappable so you'd have to shut down the machine while swapping the hard drive or zip drive or what ever you planned to use from VF to computer.

The VF-16 sounds like a great deal at that price, but the MR-8 works fine with Win98 with a $15 card reader... (That's what I use). I would assume the same with the Mac.
