Is the VF-16 limited to just 2 effects at Mixdown, one effect each from the 2 effects banks?Or is there a way to use more than 2 effects choices at mixdown.

Example:I want a Reverb from Effects Bank One on a Vocal Track.

I also want another effect from Effects Bank One other than that Reverb Im using on the Vocal. Is this possible or is the effect I choose from that bank gonna apply too all tracks that Have "Bank one's" effect applied to it.

I noticed that when I applied A reverb from bank one to a vocal Track and then went in and applied a Different reverb from Effects Bank one to another Track, that it automatically applied the second choice to my vocal track that I chose the first reverb for.

If 2 is the limit, this thing really IS Limited when it comes to effects.

The EQ is able to be applied seperately for all 16 channels and I was just wondering if the same rule applied to the effects.

Say it aint so...

Thanks.

???????

Dont tell me there isnt a soul here that uses the internal effects on the VF-16.Gotta be someone out there thats using the effects at mixdown.

Think of Effect 1 and Effect 2 as real processors. If you have a processor and set the effect to reverb #7 (or whatever) THAT is what you're gonna get when you add it to guitar, vocals etc.

YOU GET YOUR CHOICE OF 2 EFFECTS AT A TIME. PERIOD!!

Does that clear it up for ya? I suggest you use the Auxiliary sends. This will give you 2 more effects, but you'll have to buy a dual FX processor and use up 2 tracks on the VF-16 to bring the signals back in.

Not great news, I know, but that's what we get for not spending more money!!

ALL hope is not lost dude. You can optical out the tracks into your PC and add effects there, then send them back into the Fostex....kinda defeats the purpose, but hey, you asked!!

In that respect the machine is not limited, and quite honestly, the effects arent really for mix down. I use them more for adding color while players overdub tracks then can hear some reverbs ont he drums etc...then i send them dry into my computer for tweaking and further coloring with effects for mastering.

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies guys.I do have a Dual Effects Processor and I'll play with that a little.Im trying to stay away from as much outboard gear as possible.I dont have a sound card capable of transferring files via the ADAT light Pipe so Im trying to make do the best I can with what Ive got today.

Thanks again!

HERE'S SOMETHING THAT I DO...

I ADD MY EFFECTS TO MY CHANNELS BEFORE I EVEN RECORD
SOMETIMES. THEN AFTER I RECORD MY TRACK WHAT EVER EFFECT I HAD ON THAT CHANNEL WILL BE ON THERE. THEN I CAN GO BACK TO THE EFFECT PROCESSER 1 OR 2 AND SELECT A NEW REVURB.

THE ONLY THING IS THAT YOU BETTER LIKE THE EFFECT THAT YOU PUT ON THE CHANNEL BECAUSE AFTER YOU RECORD IT... IT'S
ON THERE FOR GOOD!

HERE'S HOW.

1. PRESS INPUT SELECT AND SELECT THE CHANNEL THAT YOU
WANT.
2. PRESS SOURE. AND SELECT THE CHANNEL AND SELECT THE
EFFECT 1 OR 2 BUTTION.
3.PRESS THE RECORD BUSS BUTTION AND SELECT THE TRACKS THAT YOU WANT TO RECORD.
4.PRESS THE EFF SEND BUTTION AND SELECT THE CHANNEL THAT YOU WANT THE EFF TO BE SENT TO AND THEN TRUN THE JOG WEEL TO YOU GET THE RIGHT SEND LEVEL THAT YOU WANT.
PRESS RECORD!!!!!!

IF THIS DON'T WORK PLEASE E-MAIL ME BACK AT RAINRECORDS1@YAHOO.COM OH! AND IF YOU HAVE ANY GOOD DRUM RECORDING TIPS PLEASE TELL ME THEM!
YOU MUST KNOW THAT I'M ONLY 13 BUT I DO LOVE TO RECORD(I PLAY GUITAR) AND I OWN A VF-16 MY SELF!
