So I went down to the local G***** C***** tonight, just to look around and look for some cables I'll need to picking up, etc etc. I decided to check out some of their rack gear on display, and I noticed that they still have a Vestax multieffect deal that has been there probably close to a year now. Its a modular, lunchbox-style rackmount job with three digital reverbs, four digital delays, and two compressors loaded in it. A long time ago I searched for the model numbers of the modules online but wasn't able to turn up anything. They're an "M" series, I suppose...the compressor is MC and a number (9, maybe?), the delay is MD#, and the reverb is MR#. Given the color scheme of the whole thing, I'd probably venture to guess that its from the mid to late 80s.
The price tag on the unit says $199, but I'd think that since its been around the store for so long and obviously isn't moving, I could probably get it out the door for way less than that. What I'm wondering is if anyone knows anything, anything at all, about these effect units, if Vestax stuff is quality in general, and if this unit seems like it might be a decent addition to a budget home setup?
