attempted to do the velocity adjustment thing you always mention. Its an AB piece, the first half is the basic melody and chord changes, and the second half is harmonically embellished. An exercise that came out half decent.
in the A part, its how I usually did stuff before, in the B part, I try "building up from the bass" wiith the undermelody in IV-cannon and I like the "sparkle" at one point from cannoning in the upper melody in the next octave transposed up to the V chord.
I always wonderd how to get those "gumdrop" high notes dangling over a melody before that, lol.
