Vegas Audio users

I am curious if anyone here uses Vegas or has used it in the past. I have been Vegas Pro (the first vegas) on and off for the past three years and still find myself preferring it over other multi-tracking sequencers. If I need to do midi editing I use Sonar. But if I am working on straight audio, vegas works better for me than any of the other programs. It's so much simpler and much more powerful in it's editing capabilities. Now I am in a rut. I have a pirated version of the Vegas (tsk tsk I know I know) and this has suited me just fine until now. I am now renting a large studio space where I have my drums set up and would like to record 4 tracks simultaneously. My pirated version of vegas doesn't support more than 2 track simultaneous recording. I would really like to go legit and buy the real deal but I don't want to buy vegas video 4.0. I have toyed around with it and it's just not the same as vegas pro and vegas audio 2.0 which were programs streamlined for audio. Does anyone know where I could buy an old version of vegas audio 2.0? Has anyone moved on from vegas and would like to sell me a legit copy?
 
Maybe sonic foundry wouldn't have discontinued it if they actually made enought money off of it, i.e. if jackasses weren't stealing it. Yes you heard the nubmeister right, stealing it. You are a theif sir. You can't have your cakewalk and eat it too.
 
Thanks Shakrock, I thought I might post here because there may be people who have switched to other programs and have an unused copy of vegas lying around that they would like to sell. I will post in the sonicfoundry forum as well.

What's wrong with just using Sonar? It's better than Vegas anyway. If your Sonar's legal, use it, if not, buy something, don't pirate it.
 
i have vegas 4.0 it works real well i dl it than i gota keygen for it and i can do as many tracks as i want maybe your using the demo tryi getting a keygen

Not only can't you type, but you're a cheap bastard. You won't even pay for your main recording application.

Watch them start cryin' wolf once they become famous (wink wink) and we start pirating their music and they receive no compensation. Freakin' theifs. I met plenty a software engineer that has wondered what would happen if they wandered into a "pirates" house and stole their TV set. Same thing.
 
OK, didn't mean to start a discussion on intellectual property rights. Would it help if I disclosed more information and told you that I downloaded that software when I was a high school student who did many illegal things until I grew out of that rebellious phase. The point of my post is that I am looking to buy a legitimate copy of Vegas 2.0. I bought sonar with my hard earned money and miss Vegas's ease of use. I am also more familiar with it.

And nubby if I ever become famous I promise I will send you one hundred free copies of my major label release :D
 
I never thought I'd say this but Nubby is right. If you use it, BUY it.
 
Let me start out by saying how much I enjoy this forum and respect people's opinion (especially track rat's) Please read the whole post. I have not downloaded any software for the past 4 years and do not plan to in the future. I don't even own any mix tapes. You are preaching to the choir guys.

Can I make a declaration here?

I BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE SHOULD BUY SOFTWARE NOT PIRATE IT.

Here's another:

I WANT TO BUY A LEGITIMATE COPY OF VEGAS 2.0

That is all I should have included in my original post. Sorry for letting everyone know about my delinquent past. I didn't know it would stir up so much trouble. Oh, I cheated on my ex-girlfriend once. I've experimented with illegal recreational drugs. I am also behind on my taxes.
