Valve Mic selection

But in this case you COULD blame the gear if the recording sounded (and smelled?) like sh!t

Lets just hope they don't want windscreens with them!

But now back to the origins of this ca - ca thread.

I haven't seen shiner inc chime back in on this I think we scared him off.
Now depending where you live shiner inc you can go to local music store or studio and test drive a few then make a decision or do like the rest of us and have a huge inventory in our mic lockers of mics that we thought would be great and now get used once in a great while cause we have better go to mics, "just about every mic made in the world has its special purpose"

Valve Mic Selection

I've been out of action for a day or two
Thanks for your feedback
Not sure what USA or UK proces woul de for Rode product but I can pick up up the following for the $ shown if I shop around.
NT1A AUD340, NT1000 AUD800, NT2A AUD650, NT2000 AUD900, Classic 11 AUD 1900 and K2 AUD 1000.
I think I'll stay away from Behringer and SMPROAUDIO and invest in the NT1A

I picked up a Behringer T-1 today.
Preliminary testing says that it's actually pretty good but I won't be able to spend some real time on it today.
I like the Behringer small condensers but so far, have not been impressed by either of the large condensers. Too bright. I'm not hearing that in the T-1.

You might want to search the Mojave MA200 or it's FET brother the Mojave 201FET. I own the MA200 and its killer on vocals and acoustic guitar.:)

I like the Behringer T-1 so much, I bought the company.
It's turned out to be an excellent purchase.
Not as full as The Golden Age Ribbon but it seems to suit me.
Not only that, they knocked $50 off the price for boxing day so I took the ad. in and got my $50+ back, plus tax.
Same goes with the Golden Age Pre 73. I walked out with their entire float in my pocket.

If I had to choose now .... It would be a toss up between the 1000 or the K2

I just bought an AKG Solid Tube on E-Bay.
(Against all advice)
I've finally made it up the mic ladder.
Pick your favourite mic and use the line, M.S.

I certainly don't want to say that I purchased rat shack or something like that.

Fear not! mshilarious will be along soon to show you fools the error of your thinking!
