I found v67 on ebay for cheap is it the same as the v67g?
Yeah, it's the same mic... the "G" is the Green colored model.thehook said:I found v67 on ebay for cheap is it the same as the v67g?
the V67, V67M and V67G are all the some mic - just different colors
The "M" is for Mogami. The MXL V67M is the only V67 that's made with mogami wire in it.Timothy Lawler said:I've got a V67B. It's black. The 67G is gold and green. Anybody know what color the M is?

Hi Phil... I don't know, you tell me? However, I do know every little bit helps... a little here, a little there, a better mic, better preamp, better cable, etc... in the end, it all adds up. Heck, you could lose as much as 1/2 dB just using an adaptor... how significant it is depends on how important it is.PhilGood said:I had 2 V67s and moded them with the Royer mod. When I took them apart, I noticed the amount of Mogami cable was only a few inches. How significant do you think a couple of inches of wire effects the sound? Is it noticable?
I have two V67's - one I bought one from Mars and the other from Mars' old stock at Musician's Friend (I think.) However, looking at them:Timothy Lawler said:I've got a V67B. It's black. The 67G is gold and green. Anybody know what color the M is?

If you don't want to believe me... call Marshall Electronics... the "M" stands for the Mogami Edition. Also, like with XLR cables, using better wire does make a difference... but, you probably wouldn't notice the difference. However, in the end... it all adds up.crazydoc said:As far as "Wired with Mogami", I'd have to say that's a crock of shit. I'd agree, Phil, that with the possible exception of the wire from the capsule to the board which is in a very low current/high impedance part of the circuit, you could wire the mic with old telephone cable and it probably wouldn't make any difference.

I think maybe Marshall Electronics marketing sort of made that up.DJL said:If you don't want to believe me... call Marshall Electronics... the "M" stands for the Mogami Edition. I did notice the last time I was at the ocean that it looked a little yellower - oh, wait, that was Dog Beach in San Diego.Marik said:It is like if you piss in the ocean in LA, theoretically water content will change somewhere in France or Great Britain. How many times you have to add up, pissing in the ocean to make any practically noticable difference even in Bay area?
My mom lives there (Pacific Beach) and says the Great Kept Secret is all the effluent in the ocean that comes up from Tijuana...crazydoc said:I did notice the last time I was at the ocean that it looked a little yellower - oh, wait, that was Dog Beach in San Diego.![]()

The 1" long mogami won't make any difference and IS commercial BS. It is like if you piss in the ocean in LA, theoretically water content will change somewhere in France or Great Britain. How many times you have to add up, pissing in the ocean to make any practically noticable or measurable difference
