I just got a 512 card and now I need to update to v 1.20 on my MR-8. HOW DO I DO IT!??
I can't find the instructions anywhere!

Go to the Fostex site, and then go to downloads. Find the v1.20 and download it to your desktop so you can find it easy.jreel1 said:
Plug in your MR-8 via usb and go to usb in the menu.
Open the drive in My Computer and then shrink the page down so you can see the V1.20 icon on your desk top.
Drag it onto the MR-8 drive and close the window.
Hit the stop button on your MR-8 to exit usb mode, then shut it down.
Restart the Mr-8, and it should update itself.

i followed those steps and the machine acted like it took it, but it stillsays v1.03 when i boot the mr8. please advise.

i unzipped the file, drug it to the appropriate drive(i drugged it!! ha.) and the mr-8 still says v1.03. there was only one file when i unzipped the thing. should there be more? help!!

After you drag the file over, you're supposed turn the MR-8 off and turn it back on while you hold the STOP button down - at least I think that's what you're supposed to do. It didn't work for me....

yeah i just did it. it worked for me, though. drag and drop the unzipped file, wait, walk away, turn the thing off, turn it back on and hold the stop button. it will ask you if you want to update and you hit the familiar record + yes, wait awhile, turn the thing off, walk away, try recording when blood pressure drops.

okay, after the miracle update the mr8 now reads in bars and clicks instead of minutes and seconds. any idea how to remedy this little ballbreaker?

Generally speaking, I HATE BIRTHDAYS, well... at least my own. Never have cared for them, except the 21st.
This year is a slight exception because I ended up with almost $100 "extra" money. I'll have no problem spending that, it's holding onto it long enough to make it count that will be hard...
