idiots unite!
I am not into MIDI, but I've found that I may need it!!
Hey guys...this is the first time I'm asking you for some technical help.
As I'm heavily into 'delay' FX when playing gits, I found that the PC software for the Vamp could give me total, precise and real-time control, compared to using the 'tap' button on the unit itself, for example.
I've got the lead, (5 pin DIN's labelled 'in' and 'out', other side into an old cheapy ESS sound/game card) ...(I really felt like I was going backwards installing this thing into my PC, but I'll only use it for midi comms).
I plugged the DIN plug labelled OUT into the IN of my Vamp and the DIN plug labelled IN into the OUT of Vamp....is that right?...the other side going to the 'game port' of card.
PC 'sees' that it has a MIDI card onboard, seems fine. (MPU401?)
Now to Vamp.....I've checked that the MIDI THRU is 'dis-enabled' (tap LED is off) and channel 1 is selected...is that right?
Ok......now I run the VAMP2 icon and I get this warning
"...if you connect a device with it' s midi-thru function active, it can't respond to scanning..."....ABORT/RETRY.
Guys, I've gone thru my booklet, internet manuals, supplementary writings and I'm not getting it.
Help me Obewon-kenobe, your my only hope....
Kindest Regards,
Superspit.
