V amp or digitech?
I need some opinion wich one is a better (live) effect for guitar.
What's a worth buying?
thanks

If you play metal, I would say the V-AMP has the edge there. Digitech has some pretty decent multi-effect pedals, but the V-AMP has better much sounding amp models.

Gotta agree, V-Amp all the way! I've had one and used it regularly for almost three years without any problems at all. I also have a V-ampire amplifier. Haven't had it for much more than a year or so, but same quality, same reasonable price.

Yeah I like my V-AMP too. Don't use it much, but when I've got to run my strat through the Bose PAS it's right handy.

i liked my vamp2 when i got it. but then i realized that switching between the presets with the supplied footpedal always resulted in a half second pause in sound in between. anyone else heard of this or am i doing something wrong.

I guess I'll be the only one to back the Digitech option.

Try the new GNX 3000 modeler before you buy a V. I did.
A GNX 3000 now lives in the fused studio :)

Along with a few RP200a units and yeah, even the lowly RP 50 hangs out there.

Remember, its more about HOW you use it.

That happens when you switch between cabinet models. If you are using it live, just use the same cabinet model on all the patches used in a particular song and you won't get that lag.

Im gonna put my vote in for the V-amp. I had the Digitech GNX-3, I sat down with that thing for HOURS and could not get a good sound to come out of it. I had some major tonal issues too.

I tested xvamp and digitech rp-80 yesterday. I would say xvamp is better than digitech. It sounds more 'organic' to me. I like to play hard rock, heavy metal ... but I also play some bossa nova stuff ... so the tone in vamp is what I was searching to play alive ...

Any opinions, besides?

Just to add to that little nit.. I'm not sure if it's something I'm not doing right, but the supplied footswitch doesn't switch between banks.. only the 5 presets within the selected bank. I've found that there is an additional device that is available ($150 usd) that you can control the whole world with. That would be the Behringer FCB1010 midi foot controller. Anyone here wishing to get that for me for Christmas can just PM me for my addy! :D
