i often sing in garden parties . The other day i used a windshiled with my beta SM58 and not only was it effective against the strong wind but I love the slightly softer tone which really works with my beta SM58.

I love the Beta sm58 for live vocals but ocasionally it can sound slightly harsh on male vocals . the wind shiled did wonders.

Does anyone hear use windshields even for indoor live gigs?

How do you find them?

I use them sometimes if I have multiple bands in one night- I do sound at a local club or two- if you have a Beta57 kicking around maybe try that as well....I find it to be a little more pleasing on those voices (both male and female) that are allergic to Beta58s.

At first i thought it would make the mic a bit muffed but not on a good quality condenser.

Infact that softness takes away the heavy siblance on some mics.

I have never tried a Beta57, what is the major differance in sound than the 58?

an engineering friend told me that they are a bit thin sounding.

How do you find them boingoman?
