Has anybody tried this w/ recording instead of XP? I just installed it on my computer. I really like the fact it dosent't have all the crap like XP which slows it down. Any thoughts?

All the crap that slows XP down????

Last time I checked, any NT based Server OS uses WAY more resources than its Workstation counterpart.

Well..I guess. I've only been in it for a few hours and it seemed speedy. But visually it's less clustered then xp to me.

Visually it may be more pleasing, but Brzillian is correct... any NT based Server OS uses way more resources than its Workstation counterparts do. Any increase in speed in my opinion is purely placebo.

i use 2003 often. it is fast than xp b/c because the new kernal.. xp pose to have a updated kernal with sp2 next year...
but 2003 is faster, plus very stable.
not all apps work under 2003 just to let you know.. my mains work though..Nuendo 2.1, wavelab 4, a bunch of plugs, delta 1010 w/xp drivers...
a lot of sonic foundry/sony stuff doesn't work with 2003.

I noticed a little improvement in performance trying 2003 srvr (limited time demo). It works great. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles that xp has which in my mind is a positive.
Who cares if its called server it works good. if I could afford a liscense but its pretty expensive.

Just wondering...Is their a program the I can protect my self from viruses in server 2003 or is their one in it all ready or what?
