My Delta 1010lt is going in soon, and the only thing in this computer is the onboard soundcard. Not even a Soundblaster. I was wondering if it is possible to use my onboard soundcard to play stuff like MP3s? It's mainly just so I can use computer speakers, and I don't have to swap cables and run through my mixer just to listen to MP3s. So is it possible or too much a hassle to bother with 2 soundcards?

When I fired up my 1010LT (2.8 P4 processor/ASUS P4P800 mobo/integrated audio) I could not get both soundcards to work.

I have a Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 and use the onboard audio for mp3's and .wma files, but I have to go into the control panel>multimedia>audio to change the playback preferrence(win 98se), so yes, it's possible.

But was it an onboard soundcard?
Yes, integrated sound. Running WinXP Pro. I could change the preferences through the control panel, but I do not consider that being able to use both soundcards at the same time!

I am having a similar problem. My computer came with an onboard Realtek soundcard. I use a Delta44 for recording, however, even if I disable my Delta, or change the preferences, the onboard card doesn't seem to want to work...

Infact, the Realtek on board card doesnt even show up in my device manager, or my audio hardware settings... but it is there... and when I take out the Delta, the computer uses the onboard...

.

well guys...i love the way my mp3s sound comming through my audiophile24/96....give a shot....less hassle with switching that way too
