Using the Mackie d8b as a hardware controller for Logic Audio Platinum version 6?

I have seen that Mackie has given the new software for the d8b the feature of being HUI compliant, advertising that the d8b can now control any HUI compliant software. Well eMagic has now released their Logic 6 new features. HUI compatiability being one of them. They list the HUI, Baby HUI, Yamaha 02R96 and a few other controlers as being now supported, but they did not mention the d8b. Is this just a mistake or is it the d8b somehow not supported by Logic Audio v. 6?
Also I have heard that the Logic Control that Mackie and eMagic developed together is a WONDERFUL seamless control/software set up. It is said that there is no controller on the market that is more integrated than the Logic Control and XT from eMagic.

Does anyone have any idea how closely the d8b, HUI or baby HUI would come to the level of system integration?

I have been planning to buy a Mackie 32 channel analog 8 bus and buying a Logic Control and one or two XT fader packs. This combines with the new MOTU 24I/O would give me a lot of analog i/o, and I would have the best of both worlds as well because I would have the controller to control the software, but have the mixer for the multiple ins with pre-amps going into the MOTU.

I would LOVE to combine the "best of both worlds" into one single piece of gear (i.e. the d8b). If the d8b can controll Logic as well (or even similarly) then I would be over joyed. I could then reduce the size of the gear (a 32 channel mixer with 24 channels of Logic Control would put me in to the "acres of faders" catagory.)

What do you guys think?

Logic Control was designed for and tested with Logic.
If I had to make the choice I would go with Logic Control.;)

I would expect the new d8b version 5 software, which adds the HUI emulation to work just fine with Logic Audio -- however, there's two major caveats:
1) the upgrade costs something like $300.
2) the HUI emulation REALLY emulates an HUI -- to the effect that it only uses 8 faders, just like a real HUI. I would much prefer that it use the entire set of faders.
