Does anyone know any reason why a portastudio such as a tascam 788 could not be used as a mixer in a live PA setup. I'm just starting to put together a PA system and thought it would be nice to record our live performances. Also would like to save some money.
You could. Use the monitor outs to go to the PA. Control the levels by pressing "track cue" to bring up that menu. It won't be easy to adjust levels on the fly.
Nice machine, though. I've made some great live recordings with it.
