Using pitch change on a snare

Hey anyone,

I am not to familiar with the pitch change feature in Cool Edit Pro 2.0. I have a snare wav file that I would like to use this one to raise the overall pitch(sound) of the snare shot, but when my buddy and I tried just by messing around it always seemed to speed up. I was wondering if this is always the case or how do I use this effect properly to get the desired effect?

Any insight would be great.

Use the stretch command instead of the pitch shifter, you'll find it has it's own pitch shifter except it leaves the tempo untouched, but be sure to set the quality to high or you may find the audio breaks up in undesirable ways....
