Using Midi Thru?

Ok I'm kinda new to the whole midi thing..........but if i want to use my keyboards sound module and my drum machine, but only have one midi out from my computer, how do i do that. I have the midi out from the computer going to the keyboard then the midi thru from the keyboard to the drum machine. I set the drum machine to receive channel 10. Everything works fine except channel 10 plays on the keyboard too. Is there a way to "disable" a particular channel on a keyboard so that i don't get two sets of sounds. It's an XP-10 if that helps. Your keyboard is set to recieve all. If you're only interested in say, a piano sound, you need to set it to recieve channel 1.

If you are in Performance Mode on the XP10, there should be a way to turn Part 10 off by assigning no sounds to it.
 
Hey thanks sooo much, i figured there was some way to do it. It's actually my friends stuff that im helping him with so i go over there to try it out.
