Is it possible? I don't wanna fool around with MIDI-pickups and the like. Maybe a plugin? I've read about the Antares Kantors. Anybody tried it?

Is there a plugin that turns audio to MIDI on-the-fly?

yes, I've heard of people doing this with a rolland ready strat (with a midi pickup/output) and had great results. imagine using a guitar to play the piano! one day i will try for myself.

I do not really understand what you're talking about I only know that on the sonic implants webpage is a (or more) very good (according to the mp3 file) guitar soundfont file(s) you can buy. Have a look at www.sonicimplants.com (also for gigasampler).

I know the Sonic Implants soundfonts, but I don't need a guitar soundfont as I play guitar myself.;)

MIDI-guitar is great, but not really what I'm looking for. But it is great standing on stage with a guitar, and piano or organ sounds are heared! We (the band and I) did this at a gig, and both audience and band laughed their ass of! :D

Guitar controllers have been around for quite some time. Roland and Yamaha have had guitar controllers and MIDI pickup kits since the 80's.

I should warn you though, depending on your playing results could be less then acceptable in some cases.

You have to play the guitar in a "cleaner" manner. Any kind of accidental strumming of strings results in random MIDI note data for lack of a better description. Nedless to say, the result comiing from your MIDI synth through the speakers could be quite annoying.

I remember watching a show on BBC while living in Europe. They were interviewed Midge Ure (member of Ultravox) where he said he plain hated guitar MIDI controllers because it required him to completely change is playing tecnique.
