I recently bought a Boss dd-6 digital delay pedal and I'm quite happy with it.
But I find that it's not easy to use in live situations.
it takes a couple of seconds to engage the tap-tempo mode and then there's the fact that the tempo will never stay exactly the same.

So I was wondering if anyone has any experience like mine or can offer any tips. Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean the tempo of the band doesn't stay the same, not the delay pedal. For that the only remedy is more rehearsal.

I can't remember how the dd6 works. I have the dd20, and I can tap the tempo with the right pedal before I turn the delay on with the left pedal. I think you have to hold the pedal down a few seconds to engage?

Maybe you'll have to set the tempo on the pedal first and play a quick chord (before the count in) to give your drummer something to sync to.

You just get it close and wing it. Or you let your sound guy deal with it.
