Hey-

I just installed my new Delta 44, but I am having some problems. For one, i can't play any midi files. I used to be able to, so is there any way that I can use my old card for midi, while using the delta for everything else?? Also, now when I go to play a sound file, I only hear it coming through the left speaker. (i have the speakers connected to the one of the delta's out jacks). Is there any way to get my speakers to play back in stereo? or should I have my old car play my music as well, and just use the delta for recording (if possible)?? thanks a lot! and merry christmas!

All of the delta inputs and ouputs are mono, but logically grouped into stereo pairs. Therefore, output channel 1 is "left" and channel 2 is "right".

The Delta doesn't have a MIDI synth. A MIDI synth is what actually generates the sound as specified by the MIDI commands in a midi file. Yes, you can simply use your existing card if you need to hear MIDI files...but you'll have to connect it up to your monitors to do so.

This doesn't mean you can't *use* MIDI. You can still use software synths with the Delta.
