Using an sm-58 to record guitar

And opinions on using an sm-58 to record guitar?

It might be just fine. No harm in trying.

Unscrew the ball /windscreen. It will perform and sound like a 57.

Should work just fine. The trick is to listen to the mic feed in the monitors, not to the sound of the amp in the room. You won't hear what the mic hears when you put it an inch or two from the speaker.

I think the 58 is great on electric guitar. It's a microphone, isn't it ?

No diff. The benefits of mic A over mic B are minuscule. Although I still sweat over it.
