Using Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0 w/ laptop

Hello. Brand new to computer recording, so pardon my ignorance. I need to hook up my Alesis mixer to my Sony laptop, how do I do this?!

Using the USB cable that came with the mixer...there should be an output for one on the same panel were the power adapter is inserted...

Got that, thanks! I can get a signal in and record to a Sonar8 track using the USB input, but how do I get stereo to the tracks and moniter/playback in stereo to my headphones? Hopefully I'm explaining myself right. The sound goes into track 1 but not in stereo.

Um im not sure what you asking...if you are trying to get sound to play back through your headphones that you have plugged into your mixer you will need to set the mixer as not only your input but also your output device in your softwares properties option...but im not sure you can setup your mixer as the audio out
