Using a virtual amp in the mix

thanks its starting to make more sense, two more questions, Metal, why do i need to have a reamp box to bring my signal back through the vamp, doesnt the software have the "sounds" i can apply to the dry signal already? also what is this bypass thing i was hearing about earlier on the vamp, so there is a way i can bypass the v amp and use it as a direct box, anyone know about this???

1.) A "hardware" modeler, meaning one that you physically plug a guitar into like the V-amp, must recieve a signal as if it were coming from the guitar....i.e.- "instrument level". The signal coming out of your soundcard is a higher - "line level" signal and will sound terrible through it. A reamp box brings a line level signal down to instrument level.

2.) If you have a software amp modeler then you won't necessarily need to use the V-amp, so in that case, no, you don't need a re-amp device because your signal stays "in the box". In that case I don't understand all your questions about the V-amp??

3.) The V-amp pro (the rack mount version) has a direct out that bypasses any effects you are using. You can use this just as a standard DI box, even at the same time that you are using effects on the normal line out.
