...both mics into a mono tube preamp, then to the main mixer (in my case a 002R) to one track. Anyone ever do this? The reason I ask is I like the results from double micing with a Royer R-122 and Sennheiser e906, but I'd like to be able to run [both] mics through my Universal Audio LA 610 tube preamp and see what the results would be? As it is, the LA 610 being a mono unit, I can only run one mic at a time through it and the other through my 002R when double micing. And we all know the mic preamps in the 002R are just OK but no where close to the LA 610 in sound quality. One last question...what mixer would you use for this purpose? Just curious. Thanks for your comments.
