I just got a really nice PC. A long time ago I was using physical synths, but I just bought a keyboard controller and some software synths (like the Korg Legacy Digital Collection/Wavestation). This is my first time running synths through the computer.
I have the keyboard and the software and audio up and running, but now I do not understand how to get the recording software to recognize the audio.
I have an integrated sound card on my new PC and I have installed several multitrack recordring software programs (even my old Cakewalk Home Sudio from 2002). They all seem to install and work but I can't get them to identify any input audio. I somehow thought it would just record from the 'mixer' of the PC audio but I can't figure out how to configure the recording software to do this.
Am I missing something or is there no way to both record and play through the computer at the same time?
If needed, the keyboard controller is simply hooked up through the USB port.
Assistance would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
