hi all,
i'm in the process of digitizing some old vinyl recordings. i have a USB turntable going into my macpro (intel with leopard). set it all up and started recording happily a few dozens of albums into wavelab 7.1. so far so good.
yesterday it stopped working. no changes in setup, no broken cables, nothing. i can record with the turntable into logic, into audacity, not into wavelab. wavelab always spits out the same error 'cannot open audio device for wave recording. check to make sure... blabla'. searching the net for this error returned only irrelevant results.
i tried detour via soundflower, no chance. i trashed preferences, same thing. i even created a new user account on my mac just to make sure. there it gets even stranger: in the control panel the turntable pretends to be a recording device rather than playback.
i'm totally lost. any ideas what may be causing this hiccup??
thanks,
stefan
