USB mixers

Does anyone use a USB mixer as an interface?
I'm just looking for something I can use in the field to pick up a few tracks here and there with a laptop and then bring back to my main system.
Any recommendations?
Behringer Xenyx? Alesis Multimix? Others?

I have a Multimix 8 USB and it is good for what it is but too noisy to use as a serious interface. Most of the USB mixers I've seen only record the mixdown meaning that even though it may be an 8/12/16 channel mixer you still only get 2 stereo channels going into the computer.
