USB interface

I have a Celeron 900 mhz PC with 128 meg of RAM, Windows 98, and an Ensonic Audio PCI card. I've posted here before concerning my inabilty to playback more than one minute of record audio at a 44.1 sample rate. the play back burps at about one minute and then is out of sync.

When i reset the sample rate lower, I can record/playback all I want. Anyway - I've tried adjusting buffer rates, defragmenting, etc, to no avail. I'm pretty sure i just need a better soundcard.

I'm running Acid and Soundforge now and will trying Vegas or Cakewalk as soon as I get this problem solved.

Has anyone tried any of the USB audio interfaces by Tascam, Roland, or any other? They seem like a nice easy solution.

I have not used them, but I have read some
negative reviews. I guess you cant get many
tracks, because of bandwidth.

If that is true, its too bad. That Tascam
looks pretty cool, I almost bought one,
but too many folks told many not to ( I
do tons of trax)Event has one, called EZbus,
that looked really perfect for my needs, but
again, the USB audio scared me. Cheers David
